about

The allure of the tragic and powerful, the mystical power that love and lust brings to the beholder, what is so powerful about sex and love? Oscar Wilde says everything is about sex is except for sex itself…As far as I know he didn’t elaborate further, but to my mind, sex could be about love, dedication, boundless admiration and respect that manifests in the ultimate physical expression of this love with a desire to become one physical being…even just for a fleeting moment…but often sex is about, or becomes about, other, not so honourable traits and motivations. Motivations such as control, possession, both material and spiritual, domination and ownership…is this what Mr Wilde had in mind…quite possibly…This track explores these subjects and the more metaphysical concept of the creature, the darkness that lives in all people, that which we rarely show to anyone. This darkness has manifest in popular culture and literature over the ages, somewhat most recognisable in the vampiric tales of Stoker, Rice and in more recent times Meyer. These characters are often a cloak for another darkness that resides in the writer…and the reader…This darkness can often only be satisfied by an indulgence, an indulgence that enlivens the senses beyond anything achievable or imaginable in our normal lives…an ecstasy that widens the eyes and explodes the heart in a rush of (almost) unbearable sensation…death like…But often these indulgence become the ruler, the thrill begins to diminish and the need to feed (or drink or smoke or other vice) becomes simply a necessity to exist…to feel normal…and the rest of days are spent dreaming of that once attainable thrill…never to be felt again…

lyrics

Southern Belle

I see the barefoot lonely
Cause they come for me
It’s just a dreaming band
Of the left’ver scene

Taking one too many reasons
Why I can’t believe

Can you go?
I see…
Can you feed?
I believe

As some remain
What belongs to the
Terror I feel
Can you tell what I believe?
No.

It’s a pull up heart won scene
New Orleans and dare my dream

Can you show my heart it’s over
Like a dream in beds of clover

I just don’t know
For what it is I believe
