Only to watch as your once beloved descends into a spiral of shallow fleeting fulfilment that with each incursion only carves a deeper and deeper chasm that becomes impossible to fill…and you watch..and try…and reason..and appeal to their better judgment, which is now denied existence by their impertinence and obstinance…but is it really any of your business anymore…the saviour is the victim, and the victim is the saviour, they are one and the same, there cannot be one without the other, there cannot be the saved without there being a victim…it is a cruel paradox…so the saviour, gives, and tries, until they are done and they cannot give anymore, until they can’t even speak words anymore…they become drunk with dismay, they have given all they can give…when finally, the wanna be saviour becomes their own victim..and the whole cycle starts over again…The Teumessian Fox is the story of the fox so cunning and intelligent it could never be caught, sent by Dionysus to punish the children of Thebes for a crime unimaginable. So Creon, the regent of Thebes set Amphitryon to work to catch the fox. He appealed to the inhabitants and found Laelaps, the dog that was destined to catch everything it was set to hunt…So what resulted was an eternal chase, a fox that could not be caught, eternally chased by a dog that (up until now) caught everything it chased. This ceaseless struggle manifests in life, and in this exploration called Burnt Toast, is the study of a lover that cannot be loved and another that will not stop loving…never shall they cease chasing and running, to and from each other…two great creatures in their own rights that could have a multitude of suitors and lovers, but choose to inevitably be alone…
